The Hot Water Cylinder

We supply various sizes of hot water cylinder, depending on your requirements. All have 60mm of CFC free insulation for energy efficiency and are designed to optimise solar low flow technology by incorporating a microbore pipe heat exchanger. The cylinder is protected against overheating by a sensor which switches off the pump when the temperature reaches 80 deg C. For safety, especially with children, we therefore recommend the installation of a mixing valve to prevent scalding.

The Control System

The solar hot water system power supply provides both controller and pump with 21 volts DC. The pump will start when there is enough sunlight, which is measured by a sensor within the solar collector. The signal is interpreted by a microprocessor controller, which also controls the safety functions and a time delay. Because the control operates on low voltage DC it is suitable for operating from a small PV (photovoltaic) panel (see picture).
